I am a movie and TV fanantic. I weaned on the boob tube. I grew up in the 60's and the first television we owned was black and white. I don't think we had color until I was about four years old. So, I am sure you can probably guess I have seen a lot of hours of television in my life.
And yet, it did NOT rot my brain. I am an intelligent and sensitive person. The way I grew up, shows like Star trek and All In The Family and M.A.S.H. helped shaped the way I thought about things and helped me to develop my beliefs and philosophies about life. I grew up watching the Viet Nam war on the nightly news and that definitely had an impact on me. I also saw men land on the moon on television. What a wonderful time to grow up!
I guess I am just curious as to how many other people here have understood how much television has shaped their lives. Anyone?

` So many life lessons can be learned from television.
Take House, MD- If everyone were more selfish, the world would be a better place.
